Casino Grand Opening and St Jean de Baptist holiday video

Well the Casino had it’s grand opening yesterday. It’s a pretty nice place, but smaller than what I had expected. You cannot drink at the gaming tables or slot machines. I’m still waiting to get some answers on many questions concerning the Casino. I’m getting stonewalled a bit, but as soon as I find out the info you all have been emailing me about I will put it up.

Here is the video of the new Casino Gondola and some of the Casino.

Now yesterday was the Saint Jean de Baptist holiday here in Quebec. There are many activity’s that go on around here from BBQ’s, live bands playing, people at the beach, and of course fireworks at the end of the day.

OK rock climbing is this weekend. Yeeee Haaaaaa

Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos “CHECK OUT THE SIT SKI IN POWDER GUY”

You know there are some days in your life where you get the special opportunity to witness something special. Today I ran into Chris Holden. Chris is the “National Adaptive Developement” adaptive water ski, and snow ski disabled sit ski instructor. I was amazed at this mans ability and joy today.

You can find more information about the “Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing” @ www.cads-ncd.ca

Now we had extremely high winds this morning. Yes the gondola was open but they told everyone up front it would be a one hour ride to the top. So ITW staff bused everyone to the North side. The Duncan, Expo, Edge, and Lowell Thomas chairs ran throughout the day. The Duncan never really got past slow however.

Now even with it snowing as hard as it was, the winds made the top of the mountain a complete whiteout, with scetchy conditions untill you got below the wind. So the Edge was the place to be today and we tore it up.

Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos “BRRRRRRRRRRR”

With a minimum 3-night stay, for just $50* extra, you get 2 days of skiing, 3 lunches and 3 breakfasts. Hurry up! You must book by February 19, 2009.

Well I’m not going to lie to you it was very very very cold today. Windy too. La Soleil, Edge, and Expo were not open while I was skiing. Infact if you were smart you took many breaks. Before you ski tomorrow please do the follow.

1. Put sunscreen or hand lotion on hands and face. This will help protect against frost bite.
2. Cover all skin surfaces.
3. Put the ego away and get goggles. Eyes can get frostbite and cause blindness.
4. Where layers. DON’T WEAR SWEATSHIRTS. They get damp fast and will make you cold all day long.
5. Change your socks after the first 90 minutes of skiing. This is when you feet will sweat the most. Dry socks=warm toes. I put a pair in a zip lock baggy in my pocket each day.
6. Stay hydrated, and you will stay warmer.
7. Take plenty of breaks.
8. Don’t ask your children if they are cold. Just schedule breaks after every 2 runs.

Now McCulloch was closed for racing today. Alpine for training as well. Should be open tomorrow. I do not recommend doing first tracks tomorrow because it will be -24C or -4F. Wait until around 10am when the sun hits all of the slopes.

Now ITW is starting a bunch of afternoon/night family activities during Christmas. Should be a good time.

Enjoy todays videos.

Tremblant Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos More snow

Well the mtn got another inch of fluffy snow this morning, and we had snow squalls throughout the day. Snowmaking is blowing snow on Zig Zag and Vertige. The were running the La Soleil chair to get that ready to be open this weekend. That is correct. All of the Expo trails were groomed. So were the Soleil trails. Those areas will be open this weekend according to the information I have recieved.

And the cats have had 3 days to work on the trails since the Rword on Monday to help with the extra 9″ of snow we got in some spots on the mtn

Now we are going to get more snow this weekend and throughout the week. Snowmaking is going like crazy all over the mountain.

Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos “STILL FRESHIES EVERYWHERE”

Boy are my legs tired after the last 3 days. Above is a photo of Sissy Schuss. No kidding. Many of us were hiking the expo and still getting fresh tracks on every trail there.

OK the snow guns are going like grazy. Serious crazy so be careful tomorrow and this weekend with the 24 hr Grand Prix Charity Race going on.

Now the Edge chair is supposed to open this weekend and all of it’s terrain. Please be mindful that it is early season and to still use your rock skis.

Well I’m just tired as heck folks and allot more snow is on the way. Look for videos of all the 24hr concerts and events this weekend.

Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos “Top to Bottom North Side now”

Yes folks we are now open top to bottom on the North Side starting Saturday morning. Last year it was the weekend of the 24 Hour Grand Prix charity race before we had top to bottom on the North side. Duncan, Devils River, Beauchemin Bas will all be open tomorrow, and of course you know I will be the first one to get it all.

First thing today I met up with ski instructors Chris and June. Two of the best instructors here. Especially June. Man she can ski.

Now please be mindful that snow guns are going everywhere this early in the season.

Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos “fresh ego snow”

Looking out from Vertige down on the valley. Just so beautiful it is here, and the conditions are killer. You all should be skiing here. Yeeeeee haaaaa

Well the conditions are just amazing. The bit of Rword that we got yesterday is a thing of the past with the 2-3″ of fresh snow that fell over night and snow showers all day long. The snow guns are starting back up. And it looks like Taschereau might open tomorrow late in the day. Grand Prix has some rocks on skiers left at the bottom face.

I ran into Jilly, Rene, and a friend. We went down Beachemin and the snow is so soft. It was foggy up top all day long but the snow was serious ego snow. Just put your edge in and turn baby turn. Yeeee Haaaa

“Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report” TOP TO BOTTOM SKIING

I just have to tell you all about this. Last night I was walking back by Les Tours des Voyagers and saw this deer. If you look at the pan below the deer it is full of grain. I had that deer eating out of my hand in about 30 seconds. It was way cool

Todays report brought to you by: www.daniellachanceskiservice.com and also by: www.fulltiltboots.com

OK as of 2pm EST today we have top to bottom skiing. And ropes on trails will be dropping like crazy. ITW is taking advantage of this long term cold spell to get us a great start. I can’t remember the last time we had top to bottom skiing on the second day of the year.
