New Versant Soleil Ski Trail

Well today I went and hiked the new ski trail in the Versant Soleil area. It will be a biginners trail like P’tit Bonheur or Nanson. However, there isn’t the flat spots that occur on those trails. In other words no pulling yourself.

Now they have completed the trail almost to the bottom. And no before you ask I did not see any snowmaking pipes being installed. I’ll find out if the trail will have snowmaking or not for this year and let you all know.

Now this video is just basic. No frills but it shows you the new ski trail. When you see me running. BEARS

Mountain Hop to Fight Hunger “WHISTLER DAY 3″

I ran into this nice couple on Saturday. Since we are trying to feed the hungry I thought it would be nice to show the beauty of a young family with their babies enjoying a meal.

This band was really good in the village

Well yesterday and today I’ve been on a rain hold here unfortunately. When it is this wet the skis won’t even move across the snow, and it is dangerous to ski. I’m hoping things clear up her in about an hour so I get get more laps going, but Sunday was a complete washout.

Tremblant Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos “SNOWED ALL DAY LONG”

OK it has been snowing heavily since 1pm this afternoon. We’ve gotten 6-8″ of fresh since last night. There is nobody here at all. Nobody. However, please pay attention to the following.

Major cold front with high winds is about to hit. Make sure tomorrow you are properly dressed for it. Temps will be below 0F or -25C. Keep all exposed skin covered. Take plenty of breaks.

Remember with the high winds the Gondola might be delayed opening so if you are driving up from Montreal or Ottawa drive to the north side to be safe.

Found this at 2pm.

Grand Prix, Vertige, Zig Zag were all closed today because of snowmaking. This is the final two weeks of snowmaking so they are really pushing it so be prepared for the snow guns tomorrow.

The Edge was really nice today

More Edge

Avalance

Oh heck it was just giggly turns all day long.

Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos “STORM COMING”

First off my apologies to all about not getting a report up yesterday. I did ski, but this flu started kicking in when I got home and it is here full bore now. But don’t fret I went to the Doctor and I will be able to report on this storm coming tomorrow.

We are supposed to get 20-30 cm by tomorrow evening. This snow storm is not going to really start to hit us untill around 7am tomorrow morning.

Now they are starting to build the south side expert park. You need to have an extra pass which costs $20 which can be purchased at the Customer Service desk. You will not be allowed on the south side expert park unless you have this extra pass. And you must wear a helmet.

Now since this 3″ of snowfall the other day conditions are starting to get back to what they were like before the Rword on Dec 27th. There are some icy spots, but those will most certainly be gone tomorrow.

Cruising past Zig Zag/Vertige to ski Grand Prix to to Bierre n Bas

Geant was fun to motor down

Beachemin Haut to Lowell Thomas to Fuddle Duddle

Now like I said it is supposed to snow like crazy tomorrow. Look for the videos, because it will be epic.

Tremblant Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos “Weekend Edition”

My what a beautiful sunny weekend we had. Sunny clear sky’s on Saturday with a few inches of fresh snow, followed but sunny sky’s and temps in the upper teens today. Now the Holiday season is over and the economy season has begun. You can actually get a studio condo in the mtn resort village for $100 a night. Infact I know of one couple that got upgraded to a full one bedroom condo for no extra charge. Why, because we have plenty of empty room. The economy is seriously effecting the ski industry and now that industry is feeling the effects of their overly high prices.

Checking out a stash with “Dandy Dan” from . The snow was great and we had it all to ourselves. And don’t forget to see Dan at “Le Photo Shoppe” if you would like family ski photos, or commercial photos taken.

Now over the next week we are going to get allot of snow. And I do mean allot. We will most likely have another 20-25 inches of fresh snow by the end of the week. So take advantage of enonomy season lodging and skiing pricing.

It as so so so nice on this run. Enjoy

With a minimum 3-night stay, for just $50* extra, you get 2 days of skiing, 3 lunches and 3 breakfasts. Hurry up! You must book by February 19, 2009.

Superior on first tracks. Sun + cordoroy= yeee haaaa fast

So what are you folks waiting for. Get up here. The conditions are killer.

Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report w/videos “FRESHIES”

My goodness today was just incredible with the 15-18cm of fresh fluffy lite and dry POWDER snow. But we had allot and I do mean allot of wind starting the morning off making for chilly bones on the chairlifts. Riding up the Duncan you had the wind blowing in your face and it ran on slow most of the day because of the wind.

Expo chair did not open until 1pm because of the wind as well. La Soleil chair broke down in the afternoon. Vouchers were handed out because of it. And the Customer Service dept did a good job handling the situation. I do know this. Allot of money and time went into repairing the La Soleil chair over the summer because of it’s breaking down reputation. Today was just a fluke. It’s like when you have your cars transmission replaced and then a spark plug goes bad on you type of situation on that chair today.

Now here is how the day ended for me. Hiking up to ski Le Griffe before the Expo chair opened.

And yes the mtn was very busy today. We had over 11,000 visitors on the slopes today. Most people stayed on the South side. The south side did have the better conditions today. But you paid for it at the wait at the Gondola and TGV.

Playing in La Soleil for a few runs early in the am. I cannot describe how giggly I was in these turns. Yeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaa

Ryans was sweet today as well because it is hiden from the wind.

More snow is on the way and don’t forget to get your New Years Eve plans in order by purchasing your tickets NOW!!!!!!.
