MHTFH Whistler Ski and Snowboard Festival

Well today I did 19,723 vertical feet, but had to stop because the temps warmed up and the snow became very sticky. And when it is sticky you can’t cover to much vertical so I quit around 2pm today.

I ran into this nice couple on Saturday. Since we are trying to feed the hungry I thought it would be nice to show the beauty of a young family with their babies enjoying a meal. ![]()

This band was really good in the village
Well yesterday and today I’ve been on a rain hold here unfortunately. When it is this wet the skis won’t even move across the snow, and it is dangerous to ski. I’m hoping things clear up her in about an hour so I get get more laps going, but Sunday was a complete washout.

First off I would like to thank the following business’s that have helped us out
Aspen
The St Moritz Hotel for giving us a discount on our stay. Aspen Ski Company for the discounted lift tickets.
Whistler
Water Mark Communications for giving us our lift passes. Helps more than you realize.
Tremblant
Daniel Lachance Ski service www.daniellachanceskiservice.com for all the ski help and support for this trip.
Vertical totals start tomorrow.
Think Snow

Driving around Aspen and past my old apartment
Today I covered 31,292 feet in vertical. That is wow. Well this morning started on Ajax mtn, but the gondola was running slow because of winds, and Snowmass across the way was getting pouned with snow. So I went there. It snowed all day long and heavily. Still snowing heavily. Tomorrow is going to be an epic powder day.

Hey folks. lets feed the hungry

All I really have to say about today is this. I met up with one of my skiing buddy’s “Kristy” Who was able to avoid the video camera all day long but not the digital

Temps were +15C or 52F. Clear blue sky’s. Lots of sun. A bit of wind though, but as nice as it was who really cares.

Well surprisingly the mountain got an extra 1 1/2″ of snow over nite. Made things rather nice this morning, but the following runs and areas were not open today. Areas Edge and LaSoleil were closed. Danzig, Frip, ZigZag, Vertige, Grandprix, Geant, Superior trails were closed today. Actually if they got those cats on those trails after this snow tomorrow will be perfect.

I met up Saturday with Ted and Marc that last summer won a day of skiing with me from the Childrens Hospital Charity Tourney last summer.
Devils River had great snow
Well folks right now it is lightly snowing. But all day long Sunday and mostly today we got a lot of rain. There are bare spots everywhere with pole markers. Many trails are closed. But Saturday was a great sunny day of skiing.
If you look closely you will see one poor woman all the way at the end with all the guys at the other. ![]()

Well today all the cats were once again working on the Spin Fest big air jump. Meaning some grooming on the rest of the mtn was neglected. Other than that. It was ego soft snow today. Not a bad turn to be had. Conditions are getting sketchy however on many trails. We need snow. Temps in the 40’sF or +7-8C
Taschereau was finally opened up today.

Man what a stunning day. Temps in the low 30’sF or +1/2C. Light winds in the afternoon, but there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.

Lowell Thomas to Bonzai
Now it is the end of the year. The Edge and Lowell Thomas chairs will be running during the spin festival and on weekends. Ski Patrol at this time of the year is gradually opens the runs as they soften up during the day. Other than that the conditions were great on the open runs today.
Lower Duncan was in really great shape today. Nice soft ego turns

Well Saturday and Sunday was most certainly a contrast. Saturday was sunny with temps in the middle 30’sF or +2C and no winds. Today was 19F/-5C with 10mph winds. Oh and we got 2″ of fluff over night. But with the cold temps it was boiler plate under it.
Saturday evening the kids having fun with the evening activities.

The half pipe needs some work

Some trails were not open because of the temp drop. And Geant, Duncan, Superior were not groomed.
