OK we did have top to bottom on the North side but it was only Beauchemin top to bottom on the North side that was open. The cats were working on Duncan, but they just started working on that trail as of 10am this morning.
Now on the south side Desserres bas was a baseball field of ice balls so best to avoid that. The rest of the mtn was great. Taschereau was open and it was a joyful playground of snowbubble bumps.
Yes folks we are now open top to bottom on the North Side starting Saturday morning. Last year it was the weekend of the 24 Hour Grand Prix charity race before we had top to bottom on the North side. Duncan, Devils River, Beauchemin Bas will all be open tomorrow, and of course you know I will be the first one to get it all.
First thing today I met up with ski instructors Chris and June. Two of the best instructors here. Especially June. Man she can ski.
Now please be mindful that snow guns are going everywhere this early in the season. (more…)
Well folks it is just dumping like crazy right now. Has been snowing since very early in the AM. However, there is very high winds that go along with this dumpage. The TGV chair was continually getting stopped by winds this morning so it was closed for a while.
The wind was blowing so hard that they had to park snowcats as wind blocks at the top of the gondola. Other than that it was blown snow on the trails, then cleared off by wind on the trails. Made skiing tricky.
Beauvallon to bottom
Don’t forget about the live broadcast tomorrow evening at 6:15PM EST with Daniel Lachance. You will be able to answer questions live about any kind of ski gear you can imagine. Go to www.tremblant-insider.com to the ustream.tv screen at the top with the picture of the cat in it.
Well what a great start to the winter season. They are blowing snow like crazy and getting things really set up for tomorrow. Only Ptit Bonhuer, and Lowell Thomas to La Traverse was open this morning. Only the Lowell Thomas chair was running.
The reason being is they were still getting tails ready. So there was only 2 trails open this morning, but hey. It was skiing. I was making turns. It was great.
Well folks the mountain resort finally got power back this afternoon from this storm. Some small village’s in the area will still be without power untill Saturday maybe. But man it was beautiful today. And yes there were plenty of people playing in the snow. We all will be soon, so enjoy the pictures from Today.
Well folks that storm hit us good. I mean really good. Trees are down everywhere. Power lines are still be repaired as I type. Oh and it is still snowing. Enjoy the pics and videos from Driving around today.
Boy folks what a day. Snow started flying about 4pm. It’s coming down wet and hard right now. High winds. There is already 3″ of snow on the ground. Should be another 10″ by morning the way things are going.
Video of walking around. Wind was blowing me sideways it was so strong.
