Tremblant Snow Conditions Report 1April2010 w/video

TREMBLANT GOT 4 FEET OF POWDER OVER NIGHT=April Fools

No honestly man it is going really fast. Lower expo at some points is down to a cat track wide. I hope the cats can push some snow around to keep it open this weekend. Vanier from Expo is closed too. So unless they can push snow on lower expo expect Expo and Cossak trails to be closed tomorrow because of no exit.

Superior, Dunan, Geant have the best snow still. But as warm as it is well it get’s slushy quick. Water spots on slopes were showing by 1pm. Other than that skiing is killer until just after 12 noon. And it is sunny and warm. Perfect Easter weekend.

Casino Grand Opening and St Jean de Baptist holiday video

Well the Casino had it’s grand opening yesterday. It’s a pretty nice place, but smaller than what I had expected. You cannot drink at the gaming tables or slot machines. I’m still waiting to get some answers on many questions concerning the Casino. I’m getting stonewalled a bit, but as soon as I find out the info you all have been emailing me about I will put it up.

Here is the video of the new Casino Gondola and some of the Casino.

Now yesterday was the Saint Jean de Baptist holiday here in Quebec. There are many activity’s that go on around here from BBQ’s, live bands playing, people at the beach, and of course fireworks at the end of the day.

OK rock climbing is this weekend. Yeeee Haaaaaa

Fathers Day Weekend Village Video/Casino update

Casino is due to open on Weds June 24th “Saint Jean de Baptist” holiday here in Quebec. I hope to somehow have the following questions answered for you by then.
“hey jb, what high stakes table games will they have?”

“Hi JB. Great website. What type of card play will be offered?”

” Is there going to be any language problems with the high stakes
play. Poker has it’s own slang. Will the dealers be able to understand
a card jockey’s english?”

“Hey tremblantjb007. I went to your website and fantastic by the way.
Are there private high stakes rooms that can be reserved for private
games? If so what is the buy in cost to reserve those rooms, and is
there a house cut?”

“Hi JB. Is there going to be any entertainment there besides a bar. My
wife doesn’t like to play cards and only plays the slots, but she likes
the shows in Vegas. Is Tremblant going to have any entertainment at
the Casino? Thinking of going their for our honeymoon.”

“hey jb007 what are the taxes that I would have to pay if I win. I’m
from the states. Do I have to pay Canada’s IRS and my IRS too?”

“Hi JB. I was wondering if you knew who certified the dealers there”

“Hey JB007. Any pics of what the Casino looks like yet”

“How do we get back to the hotel after the gondola closes? Do you
ride back in one of the ski buses?”

“JB. What are the house limits in Texas Holdum”

“Hi JB007. Do you think their will be any problems with dealers or pit
bosses if you only speak English.”

I WILL HAVE ALL ANSWERS BEFORE THEY OPEN. I PROMISE!!!!

Here are the weekend Fathers day video and slideshow from the Village. The Nestea “Chill on the Hill” was a blast and a great success I must admit. I was really impressed how they made the snow happen. Two thumbs up for all involved in pulling this off.

Think Sunshine. And remember we are here for you. No question is to small to be answered. www.tremblant-insider.com

Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow/Ski Report w/videos “TUESDAY 20 JAN”

I ran into these kids this morning that just wanted to be on film. It was their very first day using ski poles and they did a very good job.

And I have to tell you it was a beautiful day. Temps got up to 10F, but the sun with low humidity made it feel warmer.

Well we only did get 4″ total of snow over night. It was light dry and very nice. Oh and today was colder as I said in my morning live report. However, Vertige, Zig Zag, Expo, Grand Prix, Geant, Tunnel, Fuddle Duddle, and especially Superior need some grooming done.

Ahh yes. Freshies

Superior in the slot (island of trees at the top of the run) is dangerously icy on both sides. It looks like the cats are not grooming in this section of the run at all. It is icy and rutted in just after the trees. Staying to the left of the trees is the better option.

More freshies

Vertige and Zig Zag’s have little volkswagon ice bumps. We need to get the winch cat in there. Grand Prix is rather chalky from the Races over the weekend. Every trail that has some bumps on it are getting rather hard.

Book a minimum of a 2-night stay at one of our participating hotels and have the opportunity to add 5 days of ski/snowboard for only $78* per youth aged between 6 and 17 years old.

Ending the day with a top to bottom. Nice and smooth in the sunshine going down to the village at 3pm

Now more snow is coming tomorrow. The morning it will be cold but warming up throughout the day with the clouds coming in bringing the snow. Look for my morning live Report at 7:15am to update you on trails for the day and other weather updates, events, lodging deals, and nightlife news.
