HELPFUL HINTS FOR VISITORS

This is your guide book to help you ovoid the tourist bumps while staying here in MONT TREMBLANT

**COLD WEATHER GEAR ADVICE FOR STAYING WARM ON THE SLOPES**

Parents before leaving your Mont Tremblant Condo in that backpack of yours put in the following items for yourself and your kids.

1. Spare pair of socks to change out of after your first 2 hours of skiing here at Tremblant. Will make the feet feel warmer, plus the break inside to change the socks will be great too.

2. Pack spare ***MITTENS*** to change into at the same time.

3. Put vasoline on the following areas. Vasoline is cheaper than the creams and is basically the same product without the coloring.
-Nose
-earlobes
-Cheeks
-upper lip
-chin
-if you wear a helmet put up a half inch layer across your forehead at the space between your helmet and goggles.

4. Cover all exposed skin. Carry a face mask all the time here. The wind cuts through anything this time of year. Cover your face especially. I would rather be warm without frostbite, than look cool with it and stuck in the room for a few days because of it.

5. Lastly the most important thing you can do to stay warm is to stay hydrated. Drink water before you go to bed and as soon as you get up. At least a 16oz glass.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE
Everyone please do not exchange American currency at any of the banks, bars, hotels, boutiques, and or restuarants. Please only use the ATM’s. The ATM’s at Bank National machines at the mtn and in Saint Jovite do not charge a user fee for American ATM card holders. You will also avoid the $5 transaction fee that most of the banks charge here for currency exchanges. Furthermore, the rate of exchange you get if you use US Dollar Currency for purchases at any of the shops, and or restaurants is much lower than if you used the ATM’s to get Canadian Currency before hand.

If you drive to Tremblant do not exchange currency at the US, Canadian border. The rate is usually 10 cents lower there as well. Stick to the ATM’s for cash while visiting here. Your US dollar will go much further. The ATM’s are located in the “la Kandahar, Country Inn and Suites” Bank National offices, and by the upper metered parking area at the bottom of the Fairmont Hotel. Do not use the ATM in the entrance to the “la Shack” restaurant. It charges a $3 fee on top of a $2.50 charge your bank will charge you to use it.

Also do not exchange currency at your bank back home either. You get a lower rate there as well. Remember credit cards, and bring your atm card to get Canadian Currrency. ****for the best exchange rate use your VISA card for all purchases while here in Mont Tremblant****

Fathers Day Weekend Village Video/Casino update

Casino is due to open on Weds June 24th “Saint Jean de Baptist” holiday here in Quebec. I hope to somehow have the following questions answered for you by then.
“hey jb, what high stakes table games will they have?”

“Hi JB. Great website. What type of card play will be offered?”

” Is there going to be any language problems with the high stakes
play. Poker has it’s own slang. Will the dealers be able to understand
a card jockey’s english?”

“Hey tremblantjb007. I went to your website and fantastic by the way.
Are there private high stakes rooms that can be reserved for private
games? If so what is the buy in cost to reserve those rooms, and is
there a house cut?”

“Hi JB. Is there going to be any entertainment there besides a bar. My
wife doesn’t like to play cards and only plays the slots, but she likes
the shows in Vegas. Is Tremblant going to have any entertainment at
the Casino? Thinking of going their for our honeymoon.”

“hey jb007 what are the taxes that I would have to pay if I win. I’m
from the states. Do I have to pay Canada’s IRS and my IRS too?”

“Hi JB. I was wondering if you knew who certified the dealers there”

“Hey JB007. Any pics of what the Casino looks like yet”

“How do we get back to the hotel after the gondola closes? Do you
ride back in one of the ski buses?”

“JB. What are the house limits in Texas Holdum”

“Hi JB007. Do you think their will be any problems with dealers or pit
bosses if you only speak English.”

I WILL HAVE ALL ANSWERS BEFORE THEY OPEN. I PROMISE!!!!

Here are the weekend Fathers day video and slideshow from the Village. The Nestea “Chill on the Hill” was a blast and a great success I must admit. I was really impressed how they made the snow happen. Two thumbs up for all involved in pulling this off.
