“Tremblant Snow Report” w/video 8,9Jan2010

Boy what a difference 24hrs can make. First off I would like to give an “Atta-Boy” to the Station Mont Tremblant Ski Patrol. As an old Ski Patroller myself I can appreciate the job that they do. Especially in late starting low snow years, when there is more hazards to mark, and dealing with the public asking why there isn’t more runs open. The Ski Patrol here is outstanding. Great job guys getting trails open for the season and keeping us safe.

On Friday we were still in the fog caused by the snowguns here. Now when this happens that is actually a good thing for Tremblant. It means that our snowguns are going at max capacity for our customers to make conditions better. It also means we get this micro-climate that adds to the snowmaking totals. So Friday we were still foggy.

Now on Saturday the sky’s cleared, but the temps dropped too. But with the sunshine it made it a spectacular skiing day. Patrol was dropping ropes everywhere. I got the very first run on Devils River. Hehehehehehehe

There were races for a short time on Grand Prix, and part of Beauchemin. Kandahar had race training as well until 2pm when that rope dropped. Honestly folks it was the best ski day of the year and I can’t wait to get back out there tomorrow morning and do it all over again.

THINK SNOW
