Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow report w/videos “Wow oh wow”

Met this group of people at the Gondola this morning first thing. I dug the kids suit.

We have fixed the buzzing sound in the camera’s and tomorrow’s videos should be much better. Narration editing with some music will begin on Wed’s. We just have some things to set up first. hehehehehe

Well words cannot describe how good the conditions are. It is still snowing. The conditions are fantastic. They opened McCulloch today and of course I was first one to ski it. There were no crowds to speak of at all today. I mean nada. Ski down get on chair, and repeat in this great soft snow often and smile. Seriously today may have been fogged in with snow falling up top but I was in Nirvana all day long with a wide giggle smile.

With a minimum 3-night stay, for just $50* extra, you get 2 days of skiing, 3 lunches and 3 breakfasts. Hurry up! You must book by February 19, 2009.

Going up this moring I met up with Chris to make a few turns on Grand Prix. It was just a tad bit heavy snow, but with my new Fischer Watea 94’s I was just doing whatever I wanted to on these skis. We got 4″ fresh snow up top on the South Side and another 6″ in spots on the North side. I did get into a few stashes today, but please stay out of any stashes for at least another 3 weeks for your own safety. I was just checking snow meter sticks I have placed there.

Yummmy freshies

At the top of McCulloch you had to be careful because of some man made snow bubble bumps that didn’t get groomed out all the way. This is normal. They make this bigger at several different locations on the trails to ad more snow in thin spots in the spring. But in this poor of visibility you really had to be careful and stay balanced and centered on your skis.

Yes visibility was very limited the top 500′ of the mtn. Once you got out of it things were great.

Well that is about it. I would like to thank Daniel Lachance Ski Service for the nice new Fischer Watea 94’s 178cm with Rossi bindings he gave me today. Yeeeeee haaaaaaaaa

I would also like to thank the gang in the Salomon shop for there service today while I was purchasing some Hot Chili base layers for my son in the United States Marine Corps. Now here is the kicker. Huge storm coming Monday night. Be here or be square

“Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report” w/videos IT’S DUMPING

Well folks it is just dumping like crazy right now. Has been snowing since very early in the AM. However, there is very high winds that go along with this dumpage. The TGV chair was continually getting stopped by winds this morning so it was closed for a while.

And Daniel Lachance Ski Service

The wind was blowing so hard that they had to park snowcats as wind blocks at the top of the gondola. Other than that it was blown snow on the trails, then cleared off by wind on the trails. Made skiing tricky.

Beauvallon to bottom

Don’t forget about the live broadcast tomorrow evening at 6:15PM EST with Daniel Lachance. You will be able to answer questions live about any kind of ski gear you can imagine. Go to www.tremblant-insider.com to the ustream.tv screen at the top with the picture of the cat in it.

The mtn at 7:50am EST. Notice how the snowmaking cloud covers it all because of the wind.

OK 2 quick things. I got on a pair of Zag freerides today and OMG are these skis fun. I picked up a pair from Daniel Lachance Ski Service for $200 and I’m not giving these away at all. Yeee haaaa. No I’m not promoting. This ski really rocks. And they $200CAD.

Now I have to give huge kudo’s to the snow making crew’s. You guys are killer.

First I have a correction. They are not blowing on Taschereau right now. But will be this week. Grand Prix and McCulloch should open tomorrow.

Now today I spent the first part with David Ogilvy and his young racers in the academy. Boy some of these kids have great talent.

“Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report” TOP TO BOTTOM SKIING

I just have to tell you all about this. Last night I was walking back by Les Tours des Voyagers and saw this deer. If you look at the pan below the deer it is full of grain. I had that deer eating out of my hand in about 30 seconds. It was way cool

Todays report brought to you by: www.daniellachanceskiservice.com and also by: www.fulltiltboots.com

OK as of 2pm EST today we have top to bottom skiing. And ropes on trails will be dropping like crazy. ITW is taking advantage of this long term cold spell to get us a great start. I can’t remember the last time we had top to bottom skiing on the second day of the year.

“Tremblant’s Daily Honest Snow Report” 21Nov08 w/videos, pictures

Well what a great start to the winter season. They are blowing snow like crazy and getting things really set up for tomorrow. Only Ptit Bonhuer, and Lowell Thomas to La Traverse was open this morning. Only the Lowell Thomas chair was running.

The reason being is they were still getting tails ready. So there was only 2 trails open this morning, but hey. It was skiing. I was making turns. It was great.
